Back on the blog… It’s not Quincy but rather Janis. We’re out and about a bit more to shout again… Check this amazing live performance from Alabama Shakes. The song’s featured on their thrilling “Boys and Girls” album. We dig.
Populette and James Friedman have put this killer podcast together…featuring newbies from the amazing label outta NYC. We like… a lot.
A lil vid from Benoit Baudson from our last Leftorium party with Ivan Smagghe, Kiki & Geoffroy Mugwump
Yes, it’s coming. The new highly anticipated dEUS album is released on the 19th september. Here is one of the teasers you’ve probably seen if u are following Belgium’s truly # 1 band (and by far, our fave) but in case not, the title song, “Keep you close” is featured (edited) in this vid and was also available (in full lenght) on the free covermount CD from Les Inrockuptibles magazine (31.08>06.09 edition). And, do we need to say it’s a belter ? Yes we do.
One of the highlights of Matthew Dear’s seriously thrilling “Black City” LP on Ghostly from last year, “Slowdance” is now here in video format…
Kurt Vile’s “Smoke ring for my halo” is a truly outstanding and classic piece of music. You’re probably aware of that Windows phone video but since we’re re-opening the blog and are willing to share all the things we love on a regular basis, why don’t you check this. “My baby’s arms” is the opener of the album and the vid is just great.
We know it’s been a while and we can finally unveil a few new infos. Before two massive events in October & December 2011, we’ve decided to join the K-Nal (F)estival this summer with what looks to be a great new Leftorium gathering. On the 20.08.11, Leftorium is hosting K-Nal’s first floor (aka the ‘Libertine’ room at Libertine/Supersport) with our very special guest straight from Cologne : Kompakt’s Jo Saurbier for a knees-up with Leftorium residents Prince Off & Geoffroy Mugwump…

LEFTORIUM @ K-NAL (F)ESTIVAL with
JO SAURBIER (KOMPAKT, COLOGNE)
PRINCE OFF (LEFTORIUM, BRUSSELS)
GEOFFROY MUGWUMP (LEFTORIUM/KOMPAKT, BRUSSELS)
A handful of ultra-ltd American Apparel LEFTORIUM tees from our first party are now available at the lovely Mr Ego clothes emporium, located downtown Brussels, next to the AB ticketshop (rue des pierres 29 steenstraat, 1000 brussels). Now you can vogue in style.
Leftorium is a brand new club night brought to you by the triumvirat made of Geoffroy Mugwump (Kompakt), Pierre Prince Off (P3P/Electric Park) and Wim “clubber-in-chief” Vannechel (worldwide), as a need to seriously refresh the night spectrum. The boys all share a solid background in clubbing and music fields and Leftorium ‘s aim is to bring some leftfield electronic house, disco and techno vibes to a mature clubbing audience with a fair dose of VJing and art performances in great and unusual locations.
Our first party was held on the 12th february 2011 in the lovely and über-packed (500 attending guests) Withofs Art Gallery, right in the heart of Brussels downtown, at the old Fish Market, with a killer guest set from Kompakt fave Tobias Thomas and from residents Geoffroy Mugwump and Prince Off.
Stay tuned for our new party announcements here pretty soon !
